ALPENA – In honor of National Small Business Week, the Alpena Downtown Development Authority is hosting a new event, the Small Business Showcase. The Small Business Showcase is a week-long event meant to celebrate and recognize small businesses in downtown Alpena that starts Sunday and ends with a culminating afternoon of sales from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 8.

The Alpena Downtown Development Authority (Alpena DDA) is hosting the first-ever Jingle Bell Crawl this Saturday, Dec. 12 in partnership with downtown merchants.
The Jingle Bell Crawl is meant to be a day of fun and festive shopping with participating merchants offering special deals, sales, and giveaways to encourage holiday gift shopping locally.
Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite festive outfits.
Participating merchants include: Regalo Luxury Gifts, Alpena Vintage Co., Travelling Ladders, The Rabbit Hole, Chippewa Valley Mercantile, The Local Basket Case, Rusty Petunias Marketplace, Olivet Book & Gift, Myers’ Fashions Etc., Alpena Salt Spa, Soaps & Such, Emery Enterprises and Parallel 45 Books & Gifts.
