As they have been doing all season, Bahamian collegiate track and field athletes continued to put on a show on the indoor athletics circuit this past weekend. Bahamian athletes are gearing up for their respective conference championships.
Putting on some impressive performances in her events over the weekend was Washington State University (WSU) Cougars’ junior Charisma Taylor. She posted a school-best and meet record in the 60 meters (m) hurdles and posted another meet record in the triple jump. She won both events at the Texas Tech Matador Qualifier that was held at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas, on Friday.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A select group of Ohio State men’s and women’s racers travelled to Ann Arbor, Mich., for the Silverston Invitational Friday, a three-team event featuring the host Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State in addition to the Buckeyes. Ohio State’s competitors performed extremely well, with nine wins 11 races entered. The Buckeyes did not send any field performers to the meet.
Junior Yanique Dayle picked led the way for the Buckeyes, picking up her first two wins in a Buckeye uniform after transferring from New Mexico Junior College, where she helped the team win the JUCO national indoor championship in 2020. Dayle set two personal bests in winning the 60 in 7.37 and the 200 in 24.35.
