MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) â Members of the Myrtle Beach Police Department released new information into the events surrounding the deadly shooting that claimed one of their officers last fall.

The department released new dash cam video and audio from the Oct. 3, 2020 shooting that killed Myrtle Beach Police Ofc. Jacob Hancher. That updated information was released Friday afternoon.
Hancher was responding to a domestic violence call when shots were fired. He was killed as a result of the shooting, while a second officer was injured.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) â The State Law Enforcement Division and Myrtle Beach Police Department released information that reveals the final moments of Myrtle Beach Police Ofc. Jacob Hancherâs life after he was shot while responding to a call last year.

Hancher and Ptl. Andrew Wangstad were the first to respond to a domestic call on Oct. 3 in the 400 block of 14th Avenue South when shots were fired. Hancher was killed as a result of the shooting, while Wangstad, was shot in the leg.
