The Tamil Nadu government has created a superintendent of police (SP) post for the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), Coimbatore. The ATS will be functioning from the office of the CB-CID-SID near Gandhipuram in the city. More than 356 police personnel will be recruited exclusively for the ATS.
