Separate visa counter sought for Afghan patients at Torkham - Newspaper

PESHAWAR: A senior Peshawar-based Afghan diplomat has requested the Pakistani authorities to set up a separate visa counter for patients at the Torkham border crossing in Khyber tribal district and allow entry of ambulances from Afghanistan to shift critically-ill people to hospitals. Consular General Najeebullah Ahmadzai called on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani here on Wednesday and discussed bilateral matters, including investment and provision of facilities to Afghan visitors. An official statement said Mr Ahmadzai requested for establishing a separate visa counter for patients who were shifted from different provinces of Afghanistan to hospitals in Peshawar for treatment.

KP taking steps for promotion of medical tourism, says Taimur Jhagra Peshawar January 12, 2021 PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health and Finance, Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra Monday said that the provincial government was taking steps for promotion of medical tourism. He was talking to Peshawar-based Afghan Consul-General, NajeebullahAhmadzai, who called on him here. Besides, Secretary Health, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Afghan authorities were also present on the occasion. The provincial minister said that a soft procedure would be evolved for medical visa to enable Afghan brethren to utilize better health facilities available in big hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that Afghan nationals were provided treatment in all hospitals of the province and they were also utilizing free health facilities in locals.
