A Dhaka family court is set to deliver its judgement tomorrow over the custody of two children of Bangladesh-born US citizen Imran Sharif and his wife Japanese citizen Eriko Nakano.
The Supreme Court has upheld its earlier directive that the two children, who were brought from Japan to Bangladesh in February last year by their father Bangladesh-born US citizen Imran Sharif, will stay in the custody of their mother Japanese citizen Nakano Eriko.
The Supreme Court today extended for two weeks its earlier directive saying that two children, Nakano Jasmine Malika (11) and Nakano Laila Lina (9), who were brought from Japan to Bangladesh in February last year, will stay with their mother Japanese national Eriko Nakano.
The High Court in the full text of a verdict has observed that children’s welfare should be considered first, and law should not be applied in relevant cases without their welfare and wellbeing.
