County hospitals were operating at a 39.5% ICU availability rate on Saturday, but COVID-19 patients occupied only 2.6% of the county’s staffed available ICU beds, according to Noozhawk’s data tracking.
Six of Saturday’s new cases were from Santa Maria. The Montecito-Summerland-Carpinteria area and the Lompoc Valley each reported three new cases, the Santa Ynez Valley tallied one and one case was pending geographic location.
There have been 34,378 confirmed cases across the county since the pandemic began, and 32,764 residents have since recovered.
