Power has been restored after more than 7,400 Nashville Electric Service customers lost power in West Nashville due to an equipment malfunction Friday.
NES announced the outage concentrated west of The Nations, according to its outage map at 5:35 p.m. Friday.
As of 6:40 p.m. Friday, crews restored power to all but 1,400 customers in the area. Power was restored for all customers at around 7:30 p.m. Friday, according to an email from NES.
The outage was reported just before 5 p.m. Crews will restore power as quickly and safely as possible, the company stated on Twitter.
West Nashville residents expressed their concerns on Twitter with temperatures in the Nashville area dropping into the 30s Friday night into Saturday.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â Power has been restored to more than 1,300 Nashville Electric Service (NES) customers after storms moved through the area Sunday night.
At one point, around 9:20 p.m., the NES map showed 1,302 customers experiencing outages. To report an outage, call 615-234-0000.
NES is currently experiencing multiple outages across the Nashville area affecting about 1,300 customers due to the storms passing through. Although the wintry mix that slammed Middle Tennessee ended overnight, hazardous road conditions continued Tuesday, the National Weather Service in Nashville reported.
All counties across Middle Tennessee reported icy roads, or patches of ice and snow, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
Into the evening, neighborhood streets throughout Nashville remained snow and ice covered and posed a risk to travel, the Metro Nashville Police Department reported. Main roads & interstates are passable, but still have snow & ice on them, the department tweeted. If travel is absolutely essential, please drive slowly & very carefully. Stay home if at all possible.
