KOTA KINABALU: A search and rescue operation has been activated for a 60-year-old man believed to have been mauled by a crocodile along a river in the Tawau district.
A woman was killed while six others sustained injuries in an accident involving three vehicles at Kg Nasip Kita, Jalan Apas at 1.50pm, Thursday.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Station Chief Julius John Stephen Jr said a 1.57pm distress call via MERS 999 prompted firefighters to the scene some 26km away.
The accident involved two Toyota Vios and a Proton Saga.
Four victims were travelling in the Proton Saga, while two people including the deceased identified as Noor Aqila Ibrahim, 27, were travelling in the Toyota Vios

Kota Kinabalu: Kota Kinabalu recorded a three-digit high of 113 cases, which spiked Sabah’s daily caseload to 370 on Thursday from 286 on Wednesday.

(pic) said KK’s high number was largely contributed by new cases detected in existing clusters, with 49 from the Tembok Kota Kinabalu Cluster (Kepayan Prison).
The rest were from the Jalan Kayu Madang Cluster (six cases) and the Agora Borneo Cluster (five), while other cases were from targeted and symptomatic screenings as well as close contacts.
