Overly processed food has proven to cause damage to your cognitive ability overtime if it is ingested as more than 20% of your daily food intake, according to a new study.
A diet rich in chips, cookies, hot dogs, and other highly processed foods is harmful for the aging brain, according to a new study presented at the Alzheimer s Association International Conference.
"It’s exciting when our nutrition studies align with what we know as common sense," said Lynetta Smith, a clinical dietitian with Citizens Memorial Healthcare in Bolivar.
Participants who ate more than 20% of their daily calorie intake from ultra-processed foods were more likely to suffer a decline in cognitive function, according to the study.
