Please welcome new CKCU and IAMT host Natalie McGrath, who has put the spotlight on Terri Lyne Carrington and her remarkable work in jazz as a leader, drummer, vocalist, composer and producer. Tonight, we will hear the majority of her Grammy award-winning album the Mosaic project, followed by an assortment of her stylistically diverse discography. She has worked with some of the greats including Herbie Hancock, Dizzie Gillespie, Stan Getz, Wayne Shorter and many more. She has a total of three Grammy’s, and even a Doris Duke Artist Award. We will also talk about Carrington’s impact on female representation in jazz, which is extremely monumental considering how underrepresented women remain in the genre.
