Red Raider boys snag wins in first two tourney games

March 11, 2021BELMONT The trio of Jamison Gaudette, Jackson Ruelke and Nate Sottak were on top of their game last week in the opening round of the Division 3 state tournament where the Belmont boys basketball team dominated in a 69-37 victory over Inter-Lakes.
While the end result was by a margin of more than 30 points with Belmont never trailing, the Lakers hung with the Red Raiders during the opening minutes of the game thanks to some solid defensive play. The game was tied 4-4 but with five minutes remaining in the first frame the Red Raiders stormed ahead with an 8-0 run to make it a 12-4 game.

January 06, 2021BELMONT With four returning starters from a year ago, the Belmont boys basketball team is set up pretty well heading into what will surely be an unusual season on many levels. Our goals are to be a final four team with a state championship as the ultimate goal, said coach Jim Cilley, in his seventh year at the helm of the Raiders. The expectation is to compete at a high level every night and be playing at the highest level we can.
The Raiders will return four starters to the lineup from last year s team, led by senior captains Jackson Ruelke and Nate Sottak.
