Livermore Poet Laureate Cynthia Patton has announced the winners in the cityâs fifth annual science poetry contest, âPoetry in a Test Tube,â designed to celebrate Livermoreâs scientific heritage.
In the Youth Division (kindergarten through fifth grade), first place went Avery Lockhart, Leo R. Croce Elementary, for âRain, Rain, Where Have You Been?â Second place went to Caleb McWhorter, Emma C. Smith Elementary, for âThe Egret,â and third place went to Imogene Lockhart, Leo R. Croce, for âMy Little Seed.â
Middle School Division: First place went to Nathanael Resong for âThe Life of a Star;â second went to Friedrich Hohensee for âRift;â and third went to Colton DeGroat for âZap.â All three attend Mendenhall Middle School.
