Nothing underlines this better than the amendments to the Law on Intellectual Property, which are set to be presented at the National Assemblyâs October session, and which are expected to be approved by May 2022. The proposed changes focus on strengthening the protection of patents, trademarks, and geographical indications in order to encourage innovation among Vietnamese firms.
While the main aim of these amendments is to ensure that Vietnamese laws and regulations comply with the free trade agreements which the country has signed, these will also play a key role in developing Vietnam into a regional centre for innovation.

After four years of preparations, the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam has granted Geographical Indication (GI) to the Cham Islands bird’s nest products.

The Hoi An city People’s Committee, which has jurisdiction over the islands, said the product contributed 20% to the city’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) annually.

Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam has granted Geographical
Indication (GI) to the Cham Islands

Hanoi (VNA) – Nine most
excellent design ideas at the VinFast Global
Showroom Design Competition 2021 were recently honoured at Times Square, New
York City.
Nearly 1,000 entries from 90 countries were sent to the contest, held by the
Vietnam Design Association – Ho Chi Minh City (VDAS) and VinFast from January
25 to February 25. The event drew the enthusiastic participation of designers
from the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and Vietnam.

Phu Yen (VNA) - The south-central coastal province of Phu Yen is willing to expand cooperation
