Photo by Roger Jacob National Petroleum s estate police are working with the police to investigate a robbery at NATPET Investments Company Ltd, in Sea Lots, where bandits stole a number of LPG gas tanks on Sunday. In a release on Monday, NP confirmed that on Sunday, at about 4.30 am, an “unconfirmed number” of gas cylinders were taken from the compound. The release said an investigation is currently at a sensitive stage, but assured that the theft would not affect the supply of LPG to consumers.

Acting CEO John Gormandy told reporters at the scene that the tank, at the southern end of the compound, was practically empty and was being cleared of residual super fuel when it exploded. He added that an investigation is under way to determine the cause of the explosion.
