Announcement because many of the people in this room are looking for that opportunity from all walks of life, from every community in San Francisco they see this as a city wide projected, not just on the waterfront. Its everybodys future. Everybody has to be heard and i know that even this weekend there was a telephonic ability to talk to people online and the telephone. There were over 4,000 people that engaged themselves with a conversation and the warriors and about what this project meant. Its incredible. I also want to give a shout out to the port and i know monique is here and theyre working hard with our team and continuing this ongoing dialogue and we will have more announcements to make. Right now this is just the beginning of this project but its a great beginning because usually when people talks about jobs and who gets to work on the project and i know supervisor avalos we have been through that and in the publicly funded projects they wait until the end to say whether they

And then my second question, i just wanted to clarify something or bring it to your attention, a lot of us here today work for the administration in this building which is actually is a pump station still in use that uses diesel pumps to pump the water from the ocean so its not just a fire house, its also us being exposed to diesel exhaust, and so with you mentioned this gal, rachel, is she the person whos not here today, or when you were talking about the air quality, having your air quality tested, and the odd thing is now a Different Agency runs and maintains these pumps that are right beneath us now so it gets kind of complicated, but i think ive been exposed, i worked at the airport for 11 years and then worked here, i have this expo

[cheers and applause] so for context i just want to mention a few things and this is no news to all of you here in the room and the people standing up with me today, but today in america more than 10 Million People are living in neighborhoods of concentrated poverty and limited investment and opportunities for themselves and their children, and we know that one of the most important factors in determining

They dont have that connection or thread or maintain that connection to your history and your past, what do you have . Thats one of the major elements of what makes quality of life in San Francisco so incredible. When people ask me, and they ask me all the time, how do you get to coit tower, i say you walk. Thats the best way to experience the gradual elevation coming up above the hustle and bustle of the city and finding this sort of oasis, if you will, at the top of the hill. When i walk through this park, i look at these brick walls and this lawn, i look at the railings around the murals. I look at the restoration and i think, yeah, i had something to do with that. Learning the lessons, thank you, landmarks meet landmarks. The Current Situation at pioneer park and coit tower is really based in public and private partnership. It was the citizens who came together to buy the land to keep it from being developed. It was Lily Hitchcock coit to give money to the city to beautify the city
