Transforming role of the national mapping agency

Digital data has increasingly become the basis on which governments, organizations and businesses base their decisions. With this, the role of the mapping agency is transforming from producer to provider of digital platform. Technology advancements have the greatest disruptive impact over the short to medium-term. Norway has a good environment for sharing geodata. For last 30 years, we have been working with municipalities and national agencies across the government to build a National Spatial Data Infrastructure a platform for data sharing based on a collaboration called ‘Norway Digital’. The structure of this platform is spatial in its setting, containing geodetic reference frame, hydrographic data, land mapping and cadaster in a common infrastructure. National Spatial Data Infrastructure project presented to Zelensky 3 min read The National Spatial Data Infrastructure project (NSDI), which combines information of various types on a single cartographic basis and provides users with a simple search and unhindered access to any data at the national, regional and local levels, has been presented to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. The president s press service said on Friday that the presentation of the project was attended by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Roman Leshchenko and acting Chairman of the State Service for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre Oleksiy Pinchuk, and acting Chairman of the State Space Agency Mykhailo Lev, leading researchers of the Research Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, Manager of the USAID AGRO project Serhiy Kubakh.

Kadaster to collaborate with Ukraine on geo-information integration 01/22/2021 [rt reading time postfix= Minutes Read postfix singular= Minute Read ] Kadaster and StateGeoCadastre Ukraine have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on institutional cooperation on National Spatial Data Infrastructure. The memorandum enables stronger cooperation between the two institutions: exchange of experts and delegations, expert support on NSDI capacity increase, cooperation on cartography, topography, cadastre, and land registry spheres. StateGeoCadastre aims to improve the development and operation of NSDI in Ukraine. Kadaster will share its knowledge and experience, recognizing the mutual benefit of cooperating on NSDI and seizing the opportunity to promote friendship and understanding between the countries.
