A new barge, the sixth in the LSAM 16 series, was launched in Thane, Maharashtra, by a private firm. This barge, named Ammunition Cum Torpedo Cum Missile Barge, LSAM 20 (Yard 130), will aid the Indian Navy in transporting articles and ammunition to ships. Built by MSME Shipyard, Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, the barge is part of a project involving 11 such barges. The project aims to enhance the Navys operational capabilities and is a testament to the Make in India initiative.
