Bibb County Deputies have arrested 22-year-old Kendarius Leshawn Grimes in connection to the shooting. Deputies say Grimes was detained during the shooting investigation. Investigators learned the gun the toddler found belonged to Grimes, and the gun had been reported stolen in July of 2020.
Deputies say Investigators questioned Grimes and charged him with cruelty to children 2nd degree, and theft by receiving. Grimes is being held on a $12,500.00 bond right now.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators are investigating the shooting of a 2-year-old girl on Christmas day.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators are looking into a shooting that happened on Linstead Drive near Dottie Court West.
Authorities say a call about an accident came in around 11:13 a.m. Friday. When deputies arrived, they found a 26-year-old man with a single gunshot wound to the upper body.
Deputies say they found the man in a Chevy Camaro that ran off the road into some bushes.
Emergency Medical Services took the victim to the Navicent Health Medical Center. The hospital lists him in stable condition.
No one else reported injuries in this incident.
Man crashes SUV into back of logging truck, Bibb deputies investigating

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a travel collision with injuries that happened on Eisenhower Parkway at the intersection of Key Street at 7:04 a.m. Tuesday.
Deputies say a 36-year-old man reportedly drove an SUV traveling east on Eisenhower Parkway. A logging truck also traveling east stopped at the intersection. As the light turned green, the logging truck moved through the intersection.
Deputies say the driver of the SUV ran into the back of the logs that were loaded on the back of the truck. The logging truck continued to drive away.
