Police suspect Gulshan-e-Iqbal teenager killed for honour

July 25, 2021 Police have registered a murder case against unidentified persons over the mysterious death of a teenage girl hailing from Quetta in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal neighbourhood on Friday. Police suspect that the girl might have been killed for “honour”. FIR No. 723/21 has been registered on behalf of the state at the Aziz Bhatti police station under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The case has been registered against unidentified persons. Investigations SSP Altaf Hussain said the girl had died under mysterious circumstances, adding that the family of the victim had changed their initial statement to the police. He said that the family had earlier claimed that the girl had died after a stray bullet had hit her while she was on the roof of the house, adding that the family later told the police that she had committed suicide by shooting herself.
