Police have registered a murder case against unidentified persons over the mysterious death of a teenage girl hailing from Quetta in Karachiâs Gulshan-e-Iqbal neighbourhood on Friday. Police suspect that the girl might have been killed for âhonourâ.
FIR No. 723/21 has been registered on behalf of the state at the Aziz Bhatti police station under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The case has been registered against unidentified persons.
Investigations SSP Altaf Hussain said the girl had died under mysterious circumstances, adding that the family of the victim had changed their initial statement to the police.
He said that the family had earlier claimed that the girl had died after a stray bullet had hit her while she was on the roof of the house, adding that the family later told the police that she had committed suicide by shooting herself.

Government Whip and Jaggaiapeta MLA Samineni Udaya Bhanu and Krishna Collector A.Md. Imtiaz handed over the sanction orders for ₹20 lakh fund to two siblings whose parents died of coronavirus infection recently.
The two children were given the sanction orders for ₹10 lakh each. The amount will be deposited as a fixed deposit in the names of the children. The interest accumulated will be given to the children annually.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Imtiaz said that so far nine such children had been identified in the district. The beneficiaries of the programme, Sk. Immanuel and Sk. Nazeer Hussain lost their parents Sk. Khaleel and Sk. Reshma to COVID about 15 days ago.Mr. Imtiaz said all such children would be identified and taken care of.
