According to a Status Report on ‘Key Concerns of the Girl Child’ by Child Right and You (CRY), on average, more than six minor girls were reported as victims of rape every day in 2022, with an additional three girls facing sexual assault or harassment. Disturbingly, many of these crimes under the POCSO Act were perpetrated by individuals known to the victims.
