Some exciting and great news out of Illinois, domestic violence experts are enthusiastic about the changes they have seen since the enactment of the Safety, Accountability, Fairness, and Equity-Today Act (SAFE-T Act). They say it has ushered in a new era of protection for domestic violence victims.
The new law covers several aspects of criminal justice reform, including policing and pre-trials, but its elimination of cash bail has drawn the most controversy and concern from the public.
