Florida State Sweeps University of Tampa in Dual Meet Finale

Noles Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  –  The No. 19/RV Florida State swimming and diving teams were selected by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America team for the Fall of 2021. The 19th-ranked men posted a GPA of 3.06, while the RV women finished at 3.47. It’s the sixth-straight semester both teams have recorded about a 3.0 team GPA. “We’ve always shown great pride in our work in the classroom,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “These student-athletes are tremendous with their studies, and they do a great job balancing their workload. Given all that we’ve had to adapt to this season, our teams have stayed on top of their academics, and I am very proud of them.” The women’s team was one of 519 to earn eligibility for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings. In total, 728 teams from 450 colleges and universities earned the honor across all NCAA divisions after turning in GPA's above a 3.0

Swim & Dive Dominates Miami

Results Coral Gables, Fla.  –  The Florida State women’s swimming and diving team defeated Miami (4-2, 1-1 ACC) on the road on Friday, moving to 5-1, 2-0 ACC on the season. The Seminoles were dominant, winning 12 of the 16 events contested at the Norman Witten Pool. The final score was 197-103. “It was an awesome performance,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “We had some NCAA cuts, some best times and some solid stuff all around. This was a big win and we put up times that should easily be ranked within the top 20 in the country. We’re excited to fine tune some things and be great in the post season. I’m really proud of the ladies today.” FSU started off with a massive, one-two finish in the 200 medley relay, led by the squad of Tania Quaglieri, Nina Kucheran, Jenny Halden and Rebecca Moynihan with a time of 1:37.55. Noles Hit the Road for ACC Contest

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  –  The Florida State women’s swimming and diving team (4-1, 1-0 ACC) will hit the road to face Miami (4-1, 1-0 ACC) in Coral Gables, Fla., at the Norman Whitten Pool. “We’re excited for a fun women’s trip to Miami,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “We’re a coed team, but it’s also important for each team to have its own identity and foster leadership. The ladies look great, and they’re ready to go.” The meet will begin at 3 p.m. and will follow the 16-event format. The teams will compete in 100s and 200s of each stroke in addition to the 50 free, 500 free, 1000 free and 200 IM. The contest will start with the 200 medley relay and conclude with the 400 free relay. Both 1-meter and 3-meter diving will run concurrently to swimming. Florida State vs LSU Canceled

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  –  The dual meet scheduled for Jan.15 between the No. 18/RV Florida State swimming and diving teams and LSU in Baton Rouge, La., has been canceled due COVID protocols. “We’re seeing meets and other sporting events canceled or postponed all around collegiate and professional sports because of this COVID spike,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “The well-being of our student-athletes is our top priority. With championship season just around the corner, we need to prioritize our preparations and not put our teams at risk.” The women’s team is scheduled to travel to Coral Gables, Fla., to face ACC foe Miami on Jan. 21 at 3 PM.  The Seminoles will close out the regular season on Jan. 28 at 2 p.m. against Tampa at the Morcom Aquatics Center.
