Monday, the Lincoln-based group was packing supplies to be ready if and when FEMA calls for Hurricane Ian help.

With Hurricane Fiona now moving north and away from Puerto Rico, Nebraska Task Force One gave an update Friday on how it is helping the residents.

Nebraska Task Force One deployed 45 members to the U.S. territory on Monday.

The deployment marks the first time the task force has been activated in more than a year and the first time the force will leave the continental United States.

On Sunday morning, Nebraska Task Force 1 sent two more members to assist with the devastating floods in Kentucky. 

The devastating floods in Kentucky have killed at least 16 people, two being children.Kentucky's Governor said he expects that number to be much higher as they continue their search and rescue efforts.
