Two Santa Clarita Brush Fires Break Out On Sierra Highway In Newhall
Two Santa Clarita brush fires were reported Thursday afternoon on Sierra Highway in Newhall, prompting a response from firefighters.
UPDATE: The Needham Fire has burned 2.1 acres, after originally being believed to be at five acres, according to Fire officials.
UPDATE (1 p.m.): The Needham Fire has reached five acres in size with forward progress of the blaze stopped, according to Fire officials.
At around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, first responders received reports of a brush fire near Sierra Highway and Placerita Canyon Road. Within minutes, a second brush fire was reported nearby on Sierra Highway near Needham Ranch, according to Charisma Murillo with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Chicago-based Clayco has announced that the firm is expanding its operations and establishing a West Coast regional office in Culver City.
