Everybody wants a bite of the Big Apple. But what is it about this city that has inspired scammers from Jordan Belfort to Anna Delvey?

Anna Delvey was either Russian or she was German. Maybe she was an heiress. Or her last name was Sorokin. Today, she sits in a jail cell in upstate New York, awaiting deportation. But for a while, she had everyone fooled.

"Inventing Anna" dramatizes New York Magazine's report that Anna Sorokin duped a private-jet company and stopped by Buffett's secret party at the zoo.
