A start-up company in Alameda, California called Science has designed a visual prosthesis called the Science Eye that could restore vision in people with retinitis pigmentosa, according to a recent report.
Beijing Xinzhida Neurotechnology unveiled Neucyber, a BCI implant similar to Neuralink's tech. It enables a monkey to control a robotic arm with thoughts, marking China's entry into high-performance invasive BCI technology.
Tesla has canceled its affordable Model 2 car, which was expected to drive the company's growth into a mass-market automaker. The decision comes as Tesla faces fierce competition from Chinese electric-vehicle makers, who are offering cars as low as $10,000. The new plans call for robotaxis to be produced in much lower volumes than the projected Model 2, with Tesla's cheapest current model, the Model 3 sedan, retailing for about $39,000 in the US.
