Flags outside the Us Supreme Court and in other parts of the country are flying at half staff today in honor of justice Antonin Scalia. The leading conservative voice on the Nations High Court died after nearly 30 years on the bench. The 79yearold scalia apparently died of Natural Causes while on a trip to texas yesterday. Scalia was appointed by president Ronald Reagan in 1986. Serving as the Senior Member of the court for the last several years. President obama says he will nominate a replacement for scalia. The president offered his condolences to Justice Scalias family from california. Obama our country. Calling him a larger than life presence on the bench with a brilliant legal mind. He then announced he would seek to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court. Saying the nomination is bigger than any one party. The Morrison Government is investing $180 million in ground-breaking medical research projects around Australia to improve the lives of Australians and their loved ones.
Funded through the Government’s $20 billion Medical Research Future Fund, 106 medical research projects will receive funding to improve health outcomes, including for Australians with cancer, dementia, brain injuries, heart problems, neurofibromatosis and many others.
$18.7 million will be provided through the Stem Cell Mission for 17 projects that will address illnesses facing many Australians and their families, including heart disease, COVID-19, epilepsy and childhood cancer.
The Murdoch Children’s Institute will receive almost $1 million to evaluate the potential of a bioengineered heart tissue to be used for congenital heart repair in children. This project will radically transform patient outcomes an

Children s National Hospital and Virginia Tech have awarded two $50,000 one-year pilot grants to multi-institutional teams of scientists for pediatric brain cancer research.
The inter-institutional program, which launched in December, promotes cross-disciplinary collaborations among researchers at both institutions. At Virginia Tech, the program is part of the Virginia Tech Cancer Research Alliance. Financial support for the program was provided by the offices of the Physician-in-Chief and Chief Academic Officer at Children s National, and by Virginia Tech s Office of the Vice President for Health Sciences and Technology.
