COVID-19 hospitalizations on a downtrend in Carson City; rates of infection in children, teens on the rise

The Carson City and Quad-County region is experiencing a downward trend of COVID-19 hospitalizations since the start of the new year. However, while rates of transmission for children and teenagers have remained low since the pandemic began, new reporting shows a significant increase in minors contracting the virus, according to statistics.

COVID-19 health report for Sunday: 2 Carson City youth, 1 Lyon County resident test positive

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Sunday, June 14 that there are three new positive cases and no additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 255, with 184 recoveries and seven deaths, 64 cases remain active.

COVID-19 cases increase in Carson City area, but remain far below January surge

Nevada, like many areas across the nation, is experiencing an uptick in COVID-19 cases. The increase in cases is not comparable to the surges seen in January, which had new daily case averages of more than 6,000 statewide.

Carson City, Quad area Thursday COVID-19 health update: 15 new cases

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Thursday, July 16, 2020 that there are 15 new positive cases and no additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 494, with 338 recoveries and eight deaths, 148 cases remain active.

Lyon County Man dies from COVID-19, thirteen new positive cases in Quad-County reported

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting an additional death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individual was a male Lyon County resident in his 80’s. It is unknown at this time if he had underlying conditions. CCHHS is also reporting thirteen new positive cases and elven additional recoveries.
