As the Fall 2022 semester ends at Purdue and the university prepares for a new president on Jan. 1, President-elect Mung Chiang announced Tuesday (Dec. 20) several updates to the university leadership team and a new structure for research and partnerships at Purdue.

The “Evergreen & Ever True to Harlem” 13th Biennial Holiday Gala hosted by the 34-year-old Metro-Manhattan (NY) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, focused on enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African American and other persons of African ancestry in Harlem and abroad.

Purdue University will hail President Mitch Daniels and the unprecedented impact of the Daniels Decade through a series of celebratory and stimulating public events during the first week of December.

Purdue University has frozen tuition for all students at 2012 levels through at least 2021-22, saving students and their families more than half a billion dollars.

Daniels will be replaced by the university's dean of engineering and executive vice president for strategic initiatives, the university announced.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Purdue Board of Trustees announced today (June 10) its unanimous election of Dr. Mung Chiang, currently the John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering and Executive Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, as the university’s next president. Dr. Chiang will replace current president Mitch Daniels effective Jan.

Dr. Chiang will replace current president Mitch Daniels effective Jan. 1, 2023. Daniels has served since January 2013.
