Newly elected Sarah Baartman district municipality mayor Mzimkhulu "Scara" Njadayi collapsed and died during the first meeting of the new council on municipal premises on Wednesday. Speaking to DispatchLIVE (http://www.dispatchlive.co.za) from the scene during a telephonic interview, municipal manager Ted Pillay confirmed on Wednesday afternoon the mayor had collapsed, saying they were waiting for the paramedics to finish their work.
