Longwood Gardens – the world-famous, 1,100-acre Chester County botanical gem of industrialist Pierre du Pont – announced today the biggest project since its creation, a $250-million redo and expansion of the Gardens’ conservatory complex.
The three-year, 17-acre project will add a new West Conservatory the size of a football field, move an entire iconic garden out of the existing conservatory into its own new glasshouse, and add a new restaurant overlooking the flagship Main Fountain Garden.
