Twelve Democrats joined the bulk of their Republican counterparts to pass a pared-down bill that critics said takes a dangerous approach to regulating health care.
New Hampshire lawmakers are working on legislation that would prohibit physicians in the state from providing gender-affirming surgery to people under 18. The bill, House Bill 619, would also bar New Hampshire providers from referring patients to facilities outside of the state that could provide those surgeries.
Republican lawmakers are proposing a narrower version of a bill that would restrict access to gender-affirming care for transgender youth in New Hampshire.
