ALBANY, N.Y. â United Way of the Greater Capital Region announced recently the launch of The Blake Annex.
The space will be located over two floors of the historic Kenmore Hotel building, partially on the premises of the former Steuben Athletic Club. Featuring private offices and co-working space, and an inspiring and collaborative work environment in the heart of downtown Albany.
The Blake Annex will look to build capacity and promote efficiency for Capital Region nonprofit organizations by bringing non-profit partners together to share services and drive collaboration within and across sectors to create innovative solutions to the regionâs most entrenched challenges.Â

FARMINGDALE, NY — Lidl announced the grand opening of its Farmingdale supermarket is scheduled for 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release. The new store, at 501 Northwest Drive, will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The Farmingdale store will be Lidl's 16th store on Long Island.
Customers will be able to take advantage of get-them-while-you-can grand opening special offers at the Farmingdale grand opening. The first 100 customers will be presented with a special gift card ranging from $5 to $100 each.

TROY, N.Y. â Mayor Patrick Madden delivered his sixth State of the City address Thursday evening. In a sign of the times, Madden orated on streams via the city's YouTube and Facebook pages.
The mayor recounted how the city stood together in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Madden also provided a view on how the Collar City is building forward toward a post-pandemic world.
"On the municipal level, we grappled with providing our full array of city services while doing our best to protect the health of our workforce and their families," Madden remarked on the challenges the pandemic presented.
