shore. we roll through the day it will be hot and more humid than yesterday. 74 degrees by 9:00 a.m. noon, 84. 89 by 3:00 p.m. with a high of 90 hitting 4:00 p.m. before we go back down to 86 by 6:00 p.m. at times there can be a pop-up shower or thunderstorm, but the best chance of that is north and west of philadelphia, late today and this evening, the way things are looking now. if you're heading to the playground it will be hot and humid, i recommend cool drinks for the kids, especially if they are playing baseball or something like that. when i step inside we have stronger storms tomorrow and tuesday, as well. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast coming up. >> police in delaware are looking for a hit-and-run driver. the victim was a man in his 60s. he nearly died in the street. he was hit while crossing west newport pike around 11:30. we checked overnight he is listed in critical condition. his name has not been released. delaware state police are looking for information that will lead to the driver and the vehicle involved. to the big board now, new jersey governor, chris christie said president obama is partly to blame for the middle east unrest. the republican governor said obama has not spoken firmly and forcefully on israel's behalf. these remarks came as israel targeted civilian institutions with ties to had a mass. israel said it is acting in this hour no arrests have been reported. the driver refused to be taken to the hospital. a girl who lost her parents and siblings in a gunman's rampage in texas is telling her story. cassidy stay had this afternoon there's the chance of the redevelopment of the showers and thunderstorms. some of these could bring drenching downpours. i think the best chance of this is north of philadelphia. some of this may drift into philadelphia later tonight. well have more on the strong storms coming in possibly on monday and tuesday, as well. >> a septa bus driver is recovering after being attacked. the driver of the route 54 bus was assaulted at 24th and lehigh avenue at 1:15 a.m. passengers were on board the bus at the time of the attack, but none were hurt. the driver refused to be taken to the hospital. police are looking for the driver of a white mercedes benz with pa tag also. tags. a fight break out on the welsh road party an 21-year-old man was stabbed in the head and a girl was stabbed in the stomach, both are in critical condition. a man's body was found lying on the street in north philadelphia and police are trying to figure out who killed them. seven-day forecast. nydia? >> a philadelphia family was forced out of their home overnight after it it caught on fire. firefighters were called to dillman street before 4:00 a.m. you can see the smoke philadelphia police are looking for a suspect after a man was stabbed inside a chinese takeout. it happened at broad and rockland street in the city's logan section. the man was stabbed in the chest and ear, no word on his condition, either. >> the teenager who was the only survivor of a deadly attack on her family's home is speaking out for the first time. 15-year-old cassidy stay was greeted by hundreds and friends and neighbors for for a a memorial service for her family after a suspected murder shot and killed the rest of her family. she also hailed as a hero for quickly alerting police that haskill maisk heading to her -- may have been heading to her grandparents house. haskill is facing murder charges, police say he killed the family, because they wouldn't tell him where to find his ex-wife. a shooting happened yesterday afternoon and it led to a standoff with police. police say it started as a landlord ten tenant dispute. officers who responded to the call say they came under fire and nobody was hurt. a woman accused of squatting in the home of a man with disabilities. he invited a woman to stay with him temporarily last month as a favor to a friend. the next day, she invited her boy friend to stay and invited her four adult children and apparently that's not all, the abuse came to a head when martinez said the quarter dumped bucket of urine on him. work could start tomorrow to float the ship wreck costa concordia so it could be towed for scrapping. the crews liners struck a reef when it came too close to an island in january 2012. it capsized killing 32 crash tipped a bus on its side. it happened at 6th anticipate cambria street. annie mccormick is live at the scene with the latest. >> reporter: and sarah this point the intersection is back open, the scene has cleared up, except for the traffic signal that remains to be laying on the grounds. five people are in the hospital, and one person a driver of a car has been arrested for dui. just after 2:00 p.m. this afternoon police say this cadillac ran a red light at 6th and cambria crash into the septa para transit bulls. >> soon after the police arrested the driver of the car. soon after the neighbors rushed to help the three female passengers and drivers inside the bus freeing them of their seat belts. >> a lady had laceration across the forehead. she was bleeding profusely. there were two other women bleeding. >> reporter: the good martians took the people out afraid that the van would erupt in flames. >> he took the old folks out. >> reporter: a pedestrian laid traps under the light -- laid trapped under the light. the crash community center owns the van they were about to put 20 kids on boards to head to camp. luckily, they missed the van. back out here live, the police say the three passengers were taken to temple hospital they suffered cuts to their face and neck and back injuries. always for the driver of the bus and the pedestrian that was walking by they were taken to hahnemann, police say everyone is in stable condition and expected to be okay. live in north philadelphia, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. the search continues tonight for the driver who struck a man in newport, delaware early this morning. authorities say the 49-year-old victim was hit by the car as he stood on west newport pike near harding avenue. the driver kept going. the victim was flown to christiana hospital in critical condition. the arrival of humidity brings the potential for isolated thunderstorms across region tonight. melissa magee is live at the "action news" big board with the latest. >> reporter: hi, walter the heat and humidity we had early today will fuel the showers and storms later tonight. the temperatures across the delaware and lehigh valleys were in the upper 80s. the high today 91. you factor in the humidity, feels like 94 in the city. heat index in allentown of 91 degrees. the only place you're finding relief is in beach haven down to sea isle city. the southerly winds are in the lower 70s. storm tracker 6 live double scan radar showing you showers and storms breaking out acontrols interior sections -- across the interior sections of the northeast. we have lines from pennsylvania state and the portions of the ohio valley. this will work east ward through the rest of the night. there's slight risk of finding >> good afternoon, it is sunday, july 13, i'm nydia han along with eva pilgrim. >> here's some of the stories we're following on "action news," investigators have just released in information on this morning's deadly shooting of a police officer in north jersey. >> we're following new details in a double stabbing overnight in northeast philadelphia. >> more than 1,000 atlantic city employees are scheduled to receive notices tomorrow about the latest casino closing. we'll have more on those stories? just a moment, but first the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. it's like soup out there. >> reporter: it's very, very soupy out there and staying that way for the next several days. storm tracker 6 live showing we're dry this morning, that's good. sky 6 cape may, lots of folks on the beach. cape may has been squeezing out a fair amount of sunshine so far today. storm tracker 6 live i'll show you briefly, we did have a light line of showers that actually came right through the center of the region during the mid morning hours. it's off the coast of belmawr. 85 degrees, it's sticky with dewpoints climbing up to 70 in some neighborhoods that's when we talk about oppressive humidity. 85 in in allentown. 80 in trenton. humid down the shore, bus stop not as intense temperature -- but not as intense temperature-wise. if you're putting the grill on, get some cold drinks. 1:00 p.m., 86 degrees, 5:00 p.m., 88 degrees, we'll hit a high of 90 degrees. that's the high out there that 9-0. sticky and humid, more pop-up showers later today and tonight. i'll have the timing of that. and we have possibly severe weather starting with the workweek. we'll have that in the seven day. >> we have new information on a new jersey police officer killed in the line of duty. the man who police say gunned him down. jersey city officer melvin santiago was shot in the head while still in his police officer. he and his partner were responding to a walgreens after 3:00 p.m. he was killed by the suspect who snatched the gun from the security guard. officers released the name of the suspect. lawrence campbell. >> he did not rob or attempt to rob the walgreens, but he waited north police department to arrive. surveillance cameras show campbell walked outside and speaking to a witness at which time he apologized and subsequently told the witness to watch the news later today he'll be famous. >> campbell was shot and killed by police officers. he is one of three people wanted in a homicide. the officer was the first to be killed in the line of duty since 2009. >> a head-on collision sent seven people to the hospital this morning. the crash occurred around 7:30 this morning near the intersection of old welsh road and easton road in abington. officials say a car and van collided in a head on crash. they don't know what caused the crash. search people were taken to the hospital. no word on their conditions. a septa bus driver is recovering after being attacked overnight. the driver was assaulted near the intersection of lehigh and 22nd street in north philadelphia. it happened at 1:15 a.m. passengers were on board the bus at the time of the attack, but none of them were hurt. the driver refused to be taken to the hospital to be treated. police are looking for the driver of a white mercedes benz with p-a tags. of the it was seen leaving the area after the assault. new details on a fight at a party that led to two people being stabbed overnight. it happened on the 3500 block of welsh road in northeast philadelphia at 3:30 a.m. police say a 21-year-old man was stabbed in the head and 18-year-old girl was stabbed in the stomach. both were rushed to the hospital and are in stable condition. so far police have made no arrests in the stabbings. a man's body was found on the discreet in north philadelphia. "action news" was on the scene as police began the investigation on the 3600 block of warnock street. the body was found with a gunshot wound to the head. no suspects or motives. in delaware police are looking for a driver who hit a man and left him to die in the street. it happened on the 1100 block of west newport pike in newport around midnight last night. police say the 49-year-old man was crossing the road when he was hit in the web -- westbound lanes. the victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. >> two people in central pennsylvania fails charges for throwing rocks -- face charges for throwing rocks over an overpals. a woman and and her family was traveling from ohio to new york city. le state police say the suspects threw the rocks off the bridge one went into the windshield and hit a woman in the passenger seat. an 18-year-old and juvenile who live near the bridge facing a evaluated assault charges. they are looking for two more suspects. >> pink slips go out [laughter]. >> reporter: storm tracker 6 live double scan shows we're dry. we had a sprinkle or shower that came through earlier. it wasn't that big of a deal it's gone. we look outside we have sky 6 at the airport. there's some sunshine starting to break through the clouds for the first time in philadelphia after spending the morning in cloud cover. kind of a mix out there, that's the way we think it will go. a couple of highlights it's more humid today and stormy on monday and tuesday. batten down the hatches for that. temperatures, 85 degrees, dewpoint, 69 degrees, a lot of dewpoints have climbed into the 70s which makes it sticky out there. 85 in philadelphia, 85 in wilmington. 78 at the airport in atlantic city. satellite and radar shows you if you you're running up and down i-95 and the turnpike, you'll need your sunglasses. we're keeping an eye on the showers and thunderstorms out to the west of us, some of that could pop through at times. i had a tweet saying what time. it's very hard to predict. it's going to be spotty and pop up. most of you don't see anything during the afternoon hours. it's going to be humid it will be like it's humid enough to make something happen later on. and later on, after 6:00 p.m. we'll be on the look out for strong storms and drenching downpours. it starts to fall apart after 11:00 p.m. in the overnight hours we see it die down. not expecting severe weather, i could see rumbles of thunders and heavy downpours. in allentown that's one of those spots late in the day or evening you could see a thunderstorm. sun and clouds otherwise, 89 cease is the warm and muggy high. down the shore we're close to 70 in the water in some spots, warm and humid on the beach with a high of 83 degrees. not as intense by the ocean as inland. which is pretty much the usual difference between the shore and center city. in philadelphia we're going for a high of 90. sun and clouds, more humid than yesterday with some of you walking outside and saying wow it's sticky. definitely stickier than yesterday. a little breezy out there, tonight we have thunderstorms for a while and some of them could be drenchers, 76 is the overnight low, drying out in time for the morning. i think it's very likely that the phillies play in dry weather. clouds and sun, it will be humid, first pitch 87. the 9th inning 90. it will be sweaty at the ballpark. can't rule out a passing shower or thunderstorm. but the chances are small. tomorrow, cold front will be out to the west of us, during the afternoon we'll see showers and occasionally you could get a strong, gusty thunderstorm and there could be a row pete on tuesday, because it -- a repeat on tuesday, because it may take that long for the front to sweep through the region. tomorrow, the weather service has the entire region at risk for severe weather. anything that does pop could produce damaging wind, hail and potential downpours with frequent lightning, that's tomorrow afternoon and night take cover from any storms that form. today and hot and humidity, thunderstorms around mainly at night. tomorrow, hot and humid and strong storms as i just showed you. tuesday, 85, not as hot and gusty drenching storms possible on tuesday. wednesday if there's anything left over it's down the shore in the morning. beautiful, 82 degrees, thursday, is delightful with a capital d. friday afternoon there could be an afternoon thunderstorm as we get into the weekend. >> don't forget you can get "action news" and accuweather anytime with our 6abc news app. it's free at the apple and google app stores. >> a michigan girl who was malled by a pet raccoon as a baby grew an ear on her palm. so far she had nose and cheeks and lips rebuild. a plastic surgeon shaped her new ear and implanted it on her arm to help the skin grow. >> i am pleased with the projection, you can see the ear here. when i remove the scar, the tissue is going to be moved up to her head. >> charlotte went through surgery to take the ear out of her arm and put it in the right spot. doctors say the surgery was success. if he were a lobbyist... if they were political contributors... maybe tom corbett would listen to them, instead of cutting funding for their schools. oil and gas companies gave corbett 1.7 million dollars in political contributions. and he gave them a sweetheart deal on taxes that's costing pennsylvania billions. corbett's mismanagement has caused a huge budget deficit. and his painful education cuts are forcing teacher layoffs and increasing class sizes. now corbett wants to give the oil and gas industry even more handouts. and what's he getting from them? again this morning because there's further testing to be done, they don't know what the chemical is. around 100 homes in the development skip pack township were evacuated last night emergency shelter was set up at the elementary school nearby. let's go to video from earlier this morning. you can see the epa carrying out samples they collected. they are being taken to the lab and more testing will be done today. the township said there were high readings of a volatile organic compound in several homes that appears to be coming from the sump pumps. the initial home and adjacent home residents were told to go to the hospital as a precaution. the haz/mat, dep and epa are working on this. a strong or door was report -- door was reported at a home on north gorski lane. they want home to home reporter: good morning, tam, authorities are trying to figure out what the chemical is. they took samples to the labs, crews will be back on scene today even though it's quite right now. that won't be the case throughout the day. 100 homes were evacuated due to the mysterious odor and an emergency shelter was set up at a nearby school. emergency crews and investigators are expected back on the scene. county response team and dep and epa are working to identify the source. there were high readings of a volatile organic compound in several homes. a strong odor was reported around 5:45 in a house on north gorski lane. the skippack fire company responded and the meters went into alarm and they got readings in 100 homes. >> our neighborhood had a 3-point something. we had to open the windows and evacuate and stay outside until further notice. >> this is notice that was posted on each of the doors here telling residents to call the township in order to set up a meeting so somebody can come and take readings in their home today. as for any illness or injuries, none reported. the fire department said several families did go to the hospital as a precaution they were in the initial home and adjacent home. they wanted to make sure everything was okay, because they had been in the home the entire day. they drove themselves to the hospital and got some blood tests taken to see if
