Intel wants to pivot to helping third-party companies innovate and grow the NUC line as it stops direct investment in the small PCs.

Intel has confirmed it stopped investing in the Next Unit of Compute business. After years of innovating and experimenting with the form factor, the company is nuking its NUC brand.

Intel will no longer take part in the NUC business. Instead, the company plans to pivot its strategy, ultimately supporting firms in the same line of business.

Intel has sold compact PCs and PC kits for years under the NUC brand, which have been popular as basic workstations, servers, media centers, and much more. Unfortunately, Intel won’t be making any new NUC models.

Intel is bowing out of consumer PCs as it ends its investment in NUC machines..

Intel has officially canceled development on its NUC (Next Unit of Compute) product lineup as it plans to focus on other divisions.
