Pacella replaces John Neyer, CEO of Neyer Management, who in Dec. 2021 agreed to serve as interim for six months after then-director Kara Kish resigned. Pacella is expected to serve until the end of the year or until a permanent replacement is selected.

Board member Molly North made the recommendation during a Friday meeting, saying she would like to choose from a larger candidate pool before starting interviews. The position has been vacant since Dec. 2021 when Kara Kish resigned after two years in the role.

The Park Board will begin the search for a permanent director "as soon as possible."
