Rep. Renny Cushing
New Hampshire takes great pride in our State House. We celebrate that our House of Representatives continues to meet in its original chambers, making Representatives Hall in Concord the oldest chamber in the United States still in continuous legislative use.
As the pandemic spikes and continues to take a deadly toll, state legislatures across the country are doing what most business and schools are doing meeting remotely to carry out their work.
This week, Representatives Hall joins safety-minded legislative chambers throughout the country in remaining empty. But rather than a reasonable and safe remote meeting, the New Hampshire House of Representatives has a different plan – one that will cost taxpayers unnecessarily and put the health of all members at risk.
