Each year in New Hampshire, Lake Winnipesaukee provides a signal of winter and spring when ice-in and ice-out are declared, but those dates have been shifting.

Officials report that the ice officially went out Monday night at 10:18 p.m.

Temperatures in the 70s this week are chipping away on the ice on area lakes. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON. He says ice fishing in Central Minnesota is done and now we await the ice to melt on area lakes.

It's a sign that spring has arrived in New Hampshire: ice out has been declared on Lake Winnipesaukee.
