Robert Page, 71, was told by a judge that he had murdered the 65-foot-tall mature Monterey pine at his Dorset home and lied through his teeth over its demise.

Robert Page (pictured), 68, allegedly plotted to get rid of the 65ft mature pine in the front garden of his home near Poole Harbour, Dorset, after several failed applications to the local authority to fell it.
