Bromsgrove s Court Leet at Avoncroft museum. THE historic buildings at Avoncroft museum in Stoke Prior will be open to the public this weekend for the first time since last October. Avoncroft Museum has invited the Bailiff of Bromsgrove, Ms Joanne Slade, and members of the Bromsgrove Court Leet to formally reopen the site and its buildings on Sunday May 30. The event will not only focus on the reopening of the buildings but also a response to the overwhelming public support after recent vandalism of the museum. Nick Sturgess, deputy director at Avoncroft said: “It has been a very long winter for us at Avoncroft, but opening our grounds in May and the terrific support we’ve received after a vandal attack has raised our spirits. We’re therefore thrilled to finally be in a position where we can reopen our wonderful heritage buildings with the Court Leet and say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us during this difficult time.”

Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings in Bromsgrove had been closed for six months but was trashed by thugs less than 24 hours after it reopened.
Avoncroft Museum, Bromsgrove. AVONCROFT Museum in Bromsgrove will be reopening to the public sooner than expected to mark the early May bank holiday weekend. The museum grounds will be open from May 1 every weekend 10am to 5pm and tickets must be purchased in advance. Avoncroft’s buildings will be closed but staff are hoping the 19 acres of outdoor space will entice visitors to come and explore.
Staff and trustees of the museum have decided to mark May Day bank holiday by reopening the museum grounds to the public. Director of Avoncroft Museum, Zoe Willems, said: “We have a very small staff team at the moment, and a positive army of volunteers and supporters who are helping us to get ready to open to the public. We think it’s more important to be open than to be perfect, so we hope visitors will come and enjoy the 19 acres of open space and understand that we are still a work in progress in some areas.
