VIRGINIA — A 40-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning and is expected to face a second degree murder charge after a woman was found stabbed to death in a Virginia
Police believe the man who reported the incident is the suspect.

The Virginia Police Department found a woman dead with multiple stab wounds to the head and neck early Wednesday morning in the apartment of the man police believe to be the suspect.
At about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, St. Louis County Dispatch received a call from someone saying he had stabbed someone in his apartment and that the victim might be dead, according to a news release from Virginia police. Approximately three minutes later, officers arrived to the scene of 104 Fifth St. S. in Virginia. The caller had left the apartment prior to their arrival.

He is currently being held at the St. Louis County jail in Virginia on a preliminary charge of second-degree murder.

Boy, 5, dies after falling into mine pit in northern Minnesota

VIRGINIA, Minn. (FOX 9) - A five-year-old boy has died after falling about 70 feet over the side of a mine pit in northern Minnesota, according to Virginia Police Chief Nicole Mattson.
At 4:09 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a report the boy had fallen into the mine pit near 3rd Street North and 1st Avenue North in Virginia.
Authorities later found the boy deceased.
The case remains under investigation, but police believe the death was accidental.

VIRGINIA, Minn. The Virginia Police Department has confirmed a 5-year-old boy was found dead after falling about 70 feet over the side of a mine pit in Virginia.
Chief Nicole Mattson says the call for help came in around 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Rouchleau Pit near 3
rd Street North and 1
st Avenue North.
The incident is currently under investigation and appears to be an accident, according to Mattson.
“Virginia Police Department will release further details after notifications are complete and upon the completion of our investigation,” according to Mattson.
The Virginia Fire Department Recovery Team and the Saint Louis County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the rescue effort.
