Adani group stocks jumped in opening trade, as BSE raised the upper limit circuit of 4 of the group companies, namely Adani Transmission, Adani Green Energy, Adani Wilmar, and Adani Power.

Tech Mahindra, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, ONGC, HCLTech, Hindalco, Coal India, Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank were the top losers in today's session.

By 9.40 am, Sensex was up 290.76 points, or 0.46 per cent trading at 62,837.87, Nifty50 gained 74.70 points, or 0.40 per cent to 18,608.80. Axis Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra were the top gainers at this hour.

All sectors were trading in green in the opening trade, as the realty index jumped the most at 1.15 per cent, followed by the metal index at 0.89 per cent and auto at 0.63 per cent.

IT stocks were the top gainers in the opening trade, as the Nifty IT index soared 0.61 per cent.

By this hour, the realty sector fell 1.27 per cent, while the pharma index was down 0.51 per cent.

Bharti Airtel soared over 0.80 per cent today after the telco major posted around 50 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit in the March quarter to Rs 3,006 crore.
