Big Week Ahead for Nike / US Lacrosse Division II Men s Top 20

Two conferences the Northeast 10 and the Great Lakes Valley Conference will wrap up their seasons this coming week. Lindenwood took down Rockhurst to take the top seed in the GLVC tournament, but Indianapolis will provide a major test if the Lions want to take the conference crown. Le Moyne is a big favorite in the NE10, but Saint Anselm could bring an unblemished record to a final.

After North Carolina improved to 12-0 and held off Notre Dame (6-3) in a deluge, the top eight teams in the Nike / US Lacrosse Division I Women’s Top 20 remain unchanged. That doesn’t mean, however, that there wasn’t a lot of movement. Thank the Big 10 and its unpredictability apart from No. 2 Northwestern’s dominance, for the new look this week. After almost a month without a game, Johns Hopkins won two in three days over Penn State and Rutgers to break into the rankings at No. 14. The Blue Jays head to College Park on Wednesday to take on No. 12 Maryland.

Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world: 1. Lacrosse fans have a chance to win some of the best memorabilia in the sport, with US Lacrosse’s “Bid for Gold” auction running today through Thursday.  Bid on autographed jerseys, helmets, cleats, complete sticks and more. 2. TD Ierlan confirmed to US Lacrosse Magazine that he is officially cleared to join Denver men’s lacrosse starting this weekend against Villanova. Ierlan, Division I’s all-time leading faceoff man, had spent the past two months appealing to the NCAA to allow him to transfer from Yale to Denver to finish out his career. He joins a faceoff unit that includes Alec Stathakis and Brett Boos.
