“This warms up my heart,” said Jason Bourassa, who is 43 and has been living in the park since June. Before that, he was in a nice rental apartment in James Bay but due to COVID, his work as stone fabricator dried up and he didn’t have enough money to pay his rent. He’s looking for a new place to live and a job but without a phone or internet, he said it’s a nearly impossible task. He spoke to someone about renting a suite at View Towers but when they found out he was living in Beacon Hill Park, he was turned down for the apartment.
