To the editor: In response to the article that appeared in today’s Enterprise regarding another delay for the Lower Saranac Marina, I say enough is enough. As covered by this paper, the project was seeking to develop and rejuvenate an old, dilapidated, previously established marina on Lower Saranac Lake. The developers and Mr. Damp have spent seven years and a great deal of time and money doing studies and meeting the Adirondack Park Agency’s and Department of Environmental Conservation permit process stipulations, not to mention frivolous lawsuits filed by one or two “NIMBYs.” The marina is far more environmentally friendly than it was previously, and Mr. Damp has done an exemplary job in improving the shoreline and mitigating environmental impacts. Mr. Damp has invested money into the community. He has hired contractors, engineers and provided numerous jobs in a community at a time when they are needed badly.
