Anne Carling Heymen, longtime writer for The St. Augustine Record, died on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring.
Heymen, 80, was a native of Forks Township, Pennsylvania. She joined The Record in 1962 after graduation from Stetson University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She was a longtime resident of St. Augustine Beach. Her parents moved to St. Augustine Beach while she was in college. They owned and operated Surf Crest Village, a family-centered resort, for many years.
In a 2014 interview announcing her retirement, Heymen said she had worked for and with 11 publishers and 11 editors and that it was time to retire.
