A 34-year-old Elliot Lake man is facing the 11th set of impaired driving charges laid by Nipissing West OPP officers this year following a single-vehicle collision on Thursday afternoon.
Paul Jutras has been issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle involved was impounded for seven days. He is due to attend court in Sudbury on March 3.

OPP from Sudbury responded to a collision on Highway 144 in Dublin Township at 2:57 p.m., according to a release. They determined the driver was impaired.

Domestic calls in the area patrolled by Nipissing West OPP occurred at a rate of nearly one per day last month.
The detachment, which includes Sudbury, investigated 28 domestic-related incidents in the month of January, five of which resulted in someone being charged with a criminal offence.

A 33-year-old West Nipissing resident faces charges after Nipissing West OPP and North Bay police investigated a harassment complaint at a Fourth Street residence on Jan. 23.

As a result of the investigation, the West Nipissing resident was arrested on Jan. 31 and charged with two counts of uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm, two counts of break, enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence, assault – spousal, assault with a weapon, criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate and failure to comply with undertaking.
Drugs and weapon charges laid
A Greater Sudbury man faces charges after Nipissing West OPP responded to a break-in at a Front Street residence at 7:39 pm Saturday.

During the investigation, police spoke with a person of interest on the street. As a result, the person was identified as being wanted on an outstanding warrant and subsequently arrested.
A weapon and a small quantity of drugs, suspected to be methamphetamine, were located and seized after the arrest.
As a result, Eric Jodouin, 34, of Hanmer, was charged with two counts of failure to comply with release order, two counts of fail to comply with a probation order, carrying concealed weapon and possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine.
