Police in Antigua and Barbuda said they had intensified a search for fugitive Indian-born jeweller Mehul Choksi, who went missing on Sunday, and have requested international police coordination agency Interpol to issue a global alert.

PM of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne said, "I want to make it clear to the people of India, and the entire world, Mehul Choksi is not welcomed here in Antigua and Barbuda, we want him out of the country, and as soon as leaves the better." 

In an important move to trace fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi, the Antigua and Barbuda Police has filed a missing person notice with Interpol.

Mehul Choksi, who had been absconding since Sunday, is reportedly in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Dominica, as per The Observer

​​​Choksi along with his nephew Nirav Modi are wanted in an alleged over Rs 13,500 crore fraud caused to PNB. Modi is currently lodged at Londons Wandsworth prison, Choksi is believed to be holed up in Antigua.

Mehul Choksi, who is wanted in the Rs 13,500 crore PNB scam, has been traced and arrested in Dominica. This comes days after he had gone missing in Antigua and Barbuda.
