Polling began at 7 am on Tuesday for one of the busiest days in the ongoing Assembly election in all four states and one Union Territory - West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Polling is being held for a total of 475 of the total 824 assembly constituencies across the states of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and the Union territory of Puducherry. While for West Bengal, the day marks the third in an eight-phase election, in Assam it is the third and final phase of voting. The remaining states/UT –Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are witnessing a single-phase polling. Counting for all the polls will be held on May 2.

Campaigning draws to close in Kerala ahead of April 6 Assembly polls ANI | Updated: Apr 04, 2021 21:07 IST Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India] (India), April 4 (ANI) The public campaigning for Kerala Assembly elections 2021, drew to a close on Sunday evening. This time there was no traditional Kottikalasam , the final campaign celebration in the state, which was banned on the recommendation of the Election Commission to adhere to COVID-19 regulations. Over 27 lakh people are expected to vote in all 140 constituencies spread out over Kerala when it goes in to vote on April 6 in the Assembly polls that is being held in a single phase across the state.
